Those who are unfamiliar with Kashmiri red chilli powder may think it is interchangeable with normal red chilli powder but that is far from the truth. Kashmiri red chilli powder is much closer to paprika as rather than being extremely spicy it is used to add colour and smoky flavour to dishes. While the Kashimiri red mirch powder does have a mild heat, it also has a sweet undertone to its warmth which enhances the flavour and look of any dish you add it to.
